FEATHER-LIFT™
Dr. Gregory Nikolaidis was the first physician in Austin to offer Feather-Lift™ (also known as ThreadLift™) - the revolutionary, non-surgical technique using surgical threads to lift loose skin of the face and neck.
What is a Feather-Lift™?
During a Feather-Lift™ treatment, a patented thread (called Aptos thread) is placed beneath the skin. Aptos threads are made of polypropylene - a monofilament material designed with directional cogs. Once inserted under the skin, the cogs form a permanent support structure for the tissue of the face, lifting and contouring it. Nasolabial lines will lessen as the cheeks are raised and jowls retracted. Using a local anesthesia, the patient remains awake and comfortable during the entire Feather-Lift™ procedure.
Who is the best candidate for a Feather-Lift™?
Feather-Lift™ works best on patients with drooping of the soft tissue on the face and neck, weakly pronounced aesthetic contours, or a flaccid, flat face.
What kind of downtime is required with a Feather-Lift™ treatment?
Unlike conventional face lifts, with Feather-Lift™ there is no scarring, minimal discomfort, no bandages required, and a quick recovery. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes to one hour depending on the number of areas being treated. Patients can normally return to work or normal activities within a week.
