IPL™ PHOTOFACIAL

IPL™ PhotoFacials are designed to combat the effects of aging and damaged skin in a soft, gentle way. The IPL™ PhotoFacial uses pulses of visible light to effectively treat facial redness and improve sun-damaged skin.

How does an IPL™ PhotoFacial work?

IPL Photo facial before and after photo

Using the advanced IPL (intense pulsed light) system, precise amounts of light energy are delivered through your skin's surface using a special handpiece at the targeted area. The light energy is absorbed by the damaged tissue resulting in a stimulation of the production of collagen. Through this stimulation of collagen the appearance of aging skin is softened. Fine lines and wrinkles are also improved, along with fading of dark pigmentation and age spots, and a reduction in pore size.

Even patients with rosacea can be treated with an IPL™ PhotoFacial. The redness and flushing of rosacea can be reduced 80 to 90 percent.

What areas of skin can be treated with an IPL™ PhotoFacial?

IPL™ PhotoFacial can treat the face, neck or chest.

How many IPL™ PhotoFacial treatments are necessary?

Depending on the area treated, for optimal results most patients receive four treatments. Following your first treatment, your skin will feel smoother and softer, with a more even skin tone. Improvements are gradual and become more visible after each treatment.

What is a Dynamic PhotoFacial?

WD Spa offers a more aggressive version of the IPL™ PhotoFacial for patients willing to experience a little downtime that includes increased redness and peeling, but with more dramatic results. The Dynamic PhotoFacial utilizes the application of ALA - aminolevuric acid - prior to the laser treatment. The ALA allows a deeper penetration of the light energy into the dermis. While the treatment is not recommended for all patients, it is an option for those seeking a more aggressive treatment.
