Kathleen B. Herne, M.D.

Kathleen B. Herne, M.D. photo.Kathleen B. Herne, M.D. received her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1993. She subsequently completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, a Dermatology Residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco, Department of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Herne's undergraduate education took place at the University of Dallas, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.

Dr. Herne has conducted extensive research and laboratory studies, many in the area of genital herpes infection. She brought her experience and knowledge to Westlake Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery in 2005, where she provides general and cosmetic dermatological care including Mohs Micrographic Surgery for the treatment of skin cancer.

Dr. Herne is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the American College for Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Travis County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association.
