MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy is a non-surgical technique where medication is injected into the fat layer of the skin, melting the fat beneath the skin and shrinking the fat cells.
How does mesotherapy work?
Mesotherapy uses injections of deoxycholate stabilized with phosphatidycholine (a highly purified extract derived from soybeans) in problem areas to dissolve fat and take off inches. Deoxycholate is a bile salt that dissolves the fat. This formulation is obtained from a compounding pharmacy in the United States.
What is a mesotherapy treatment like?
Mesotherapy injections are administered with an ultra-fine needle directly into the area being treated. The injections are rather painless and may be compared to a light pinch.
In what areas can mesotherapy be used?
Mesotherapy can be utilized on the love handles, abdomen, arms, thighs, hips, chin and more.
What are the side effects of a mesotherapy treatment?
There is no downtime with the procedure and no apparent side effects, other than initial swelling and bruising.
How many treatments are recommended?
It varies per person, but for most patients a series of four mesotherapy treatments spaced four weeks apart is sufficient. Results are normally seen three to four weeks after the first set of injections.
Does mesotherapy get rid of cellulite?
Mesotherapy only targets fat. However, mesotherapy can also be used in conjunction with VelaSmooth™ laser treatments for cellulite reduction. Independently, each treatment works well in achieving the desired results; but in combination, the results are outstanding.
