Emily DeSantis, MD
Emily DeSantis, MD was raised in North Carolina and received her B.A. in Philosophy from Wellesley College in Massachusetts, graduating magna cum laude. She attended medical school at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where she received the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation, an award that recognizes female students who graduate in the top 10% of their class. She then completed both a residency in Anatomic Pathology and a fellowship in Dermatopathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Following her medical training, Dr. DeSantis spent several years as the Director of Dermatopathology for a regional reference laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She also served as a clinical assistant professor in the Departments of Dermatology and Pathology at the University of New Mexico, where she oversaw the dermatopathology teaching programs for both departments. Dr. DeSantis loves being a dermatopathologist, and her specific interests include melanocytic lesions, cutaneous adnexal tumors and lymphoproliferative disorders.
Dr. DeSantis is Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology. She is a member of the College of American Pathology, American Society of Clinical Pathology, American Society of Dermatopathology, and Texas Society of Pathologists. She lives in Austin with her husband, Gerard, and their two children.
