Donna Hart, MD

Donna Hart, MD, a medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatologist, completed her dermatology residency at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, where she served as chief resident. She went to medical school at Rush University in Chicago. Dr. Hart holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign, where she earned a Finance major and Chemistry minor.

As the daughter of immigrant factory workers from a Chicago blue-collar neighborhood, she attributes her parents to providing her a strong work ethic. They gave everything to allow their children to pursue advanced educations, which they had never been afforded. Thinking of their unending drive was a major catalyst for Dr. Hart to follow her dream of becoming a doctor when she realized “something was missing” in her financial career.

Dr. Hart is drawn to both the medical and aesthetic aspects of dermatology and is dedicated to helping patients preserve their skin’s wellness. She has published in several medical journals and presented at national meetings on a range of topics including melanoma, hair loss, injectable fillers, and laser procedures.

Dr. Hart is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and Women’s Dermatologic Society.

She and her husband, Adam, are excited to call Austin their home. They love taking day trips to Lake Travis with their puppy. They both enjoy finding spots along the way with great local food. She enjoys staying active by running, kayaking, practicing yoga and Pilates. Dr. Hart is also a football fanatic, so the Austin community is a great fit for her!

But I didn’t feel rushed at all with Dr. Hart, even though I came in to discuss three separate issues (removal of possible skin tag, prescription refill, and consultation of mole removal). The nurse was very nice when I told her I have a fear of needles and sometimes faint, but the skin tag removal was so quick and painless that I didn’t have a chance to feel light-headed before it was all over.
