How does the FemTouch laser work?
FemTouch procedures are safe, quick, virtually painless, and require no downtime. FemTouch applies laser energy directly to internal vaginal tissue in order to restore it back to a normal healthy functioning state. The FemTouch probe is inserted into the vagina to focus fractional CO2 laser beams along the entire vaginal wall. The laser creates tiny controlled micro-injuries in order to promote the remodeling of the vaginal mucous epithelium layer (vaginal lining) stimulating the regeneration of new vaginal tissue by triggering collagen production.
Improved Sexual Functioning
FemTouch vaginal treatments have been shown to improve sexual satisfaction in women. The FemTouch laser reverses vaginal dryness which in turn reduces uncomfortable or painful sexual intercourse. Rejuvenated vaginal tissue can also increase sexual pleasure and satisfaction for both the woman and her partner.
How many FemTouch treatments will I need?
Most patients will need 3 FemTouch treatment sessions (spaced about a month apart a week following the patient’s menstrual cycle) to realize their desired final results. Treatments take only a few minutes to perform. Patients are then recommended to undergo a once-yearly maintenance treatment to upkeep their vaginal health.
Is there downtime?
FemTouch requires no downtime or recovery time and women can get right back to normal daily activities. Patients should refrain from intercourse for 24 hours following their treatment. There is no special aftercare required; however, the patient should avoid direct heat exposure, such as a hot shower or sauna, for 24 hours.
Is the procedure painful?
While a FemTouch procedure is not painful, some patients may experience minor pressure similar to a vaginal exam.
