Daxxify
Daxxify is a minimally invasive injectable treatment that is FDA approved to correct glabellar lines (commonly known as frown lines). Similar to Botox and Dysport, Daxxify is a neuromodulator that uses botulinum toxin type A to relax facial muscles that cause wrinkling. Daxxify is designed to smooth frown lines and wrinkles, transforming the skin to appear more youthful and vibrant.
What results can Daxxify provide?
Daxxify is a highly effective treatment with the ability to soften and smooth out frown lines (also called glabellar lines or the “11’s”). Daxxify works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals of targeted facial muscles. Once injected, the treated muscle relaxes, making it no longer able to contract, leaving the forehead wrinkle-free with a more youthful appearance.
How Long Do Results Last?
Daxxify uses a unique formulation that combines the neurotoxin with a unique protein, the inclusion of which helps to extend the effects of the neurotoxin on the treated muscle. Clinical studies of Daxxify show results typically lasting between 6-9 months. This is 2-3 times longer than other neurotoxin injectables, whose results typically last 3-4 months. Patients can extend their Daxxify results by undergoing periodic maintenance treatments.
Who is an ideal candidate for Daxxify?
Men and women who are in good general health and wish to temporarily smooth out facial lines and wrinkles are great candidates for Daxxify. In clinical trials, the treatment was effective in the vast majority of these people of varying age and skin conditioning.
How is a Daxxify treatment performed?
Daxxify treatments are very similar to Botox treatments. All treatments start with an in-office consultation where our experienced injectors assess patient need. Daxxify is injected into targeted facial muscles through a fine needle in a series of intermuscular injections.
Is Daxxify painful?
Daxxify, like other injectable treatments, is minimally painful especially when the treatment is performed by an experienced injector. Most patients report minor discomfort, similar to a rubber band snap on the skin. This discomfort is only felt during the injection, there is no pain following the procedure.
How long does a procedure take?
Once the areas of concern have been identified, Daxxify treatments take only a few minutes to complete. Many patients can undergo treatment during their lunch hour and return to work right away.
Is downtime required? What to expect in terms of recovery?
Daxxify is non-surgical and requires no downtime or recovery period. Like other injectable treatments, patients are able to return to normal daily activity immediately after treatment.
Are there side effects?
Common side effects of Daxxify are typically minor and resolve on their own without intervention. Some patients may experience redness and swelling at the injection site, both of which should subside within a few hours. Temporary bruising along the treatment area is also possible.
