How does Ultherapy work?
Ultherapy lifts, tightens, and tones loose skin on the face, neck, and under the chin to counteract the effects of time and gravity. Ultherapy works by gently heating the tissue to lift and tighten loose skin without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. Your skin’s response to the energy is to stimulate the growth of new collagen. A gradual tightening and firming occurs, resulting in a natural lift of the skin over time.
Ultherapy is the only nonsurgical skin rejuvenation procedure that can specifically target and strengthen the deep foundational layer of tissue that doctors address in surgery. The ability to treat not just the skin but its underlying support helps to ensure both safe and satisfying results, with no downtime.
What can I expect after my procedure?
Most patients are able to return to normal activities immediately after treatment. The skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after the treatment, but any redness should disappear within a few hours.
Many patients receive good clinical results with a single treatment, though some people who have a fair amount of laxity may benefit from more than one treatment. After one Ultherapy treatment, the regenerative process begins. The full effect builds gradually over the course of two to three months. Visible effects include a lifting and toning of loose skin.
One of the first effects of gravity is that the brows descend, and the eyes start to appear smaller. Ultherapy will lift the brow, which in turn reduces the excess skin on the lids, opens up the eyes and gives a more refreshed appearance.
Ultherapy can be used for treatment of the lips to soften the vertical lines that appear around the mouth over time.
In the FDA clinical trial, nine out of ten patients had a noticeable, significant lift of the brow line. This resulted in reduced skin laxity on the eyelid and a more open, youthful look to the eyes overall. Patients reported firmer, better-fitting skin in other areas of the face and neck as well.
Can areas of the body be treated?
Ultherapy is FDA-cleared to non-invasively treat:
- Face and Neck – lifts the eyebrow, neck and under-chin
- Décolletage – improves lines and wrinkles on the chest area
Other areas off the face and body can be treated off-label with Ultherapy.
- Arms – helps the “wiggle” under the upper arm
- Abdomen – helps the wrinkles about the umbilicus where the skin puckers
- Above knees – helps soften the lines above the knees
Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is an ideal treatment option for someone with skin that has become lax to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. Optimal candidates are between the ages of 30 and 65 with mild to moderate skin laxity.
How Much Does Ultherapy Cost?
The cost of Ultherapy depends upon the total number of treatment sessions needed and which facial area is treated (upper face, lower face, full face, neck, arms, abdomen, or knee area). Learn more about Ultherapy pricing
