What is Botox?
Botox is one of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic treatments available due to its ability to safely and effectively smooth facial wrinkles. Botox is a specialized form of botulism toxin (neuromodulator) that works by relaxing the underlying facial muscles that cause persistent wrinkling. When injected into the targeted muscle, Botox temporarily prevents the contractions that cause wrinkles to occur.
While the results are dramatic, it will not radically change your facial appearance. When injected by an experienced and qualified provider, Botox can have very natural looking results. We like to say, “You’ll look like you, only wrinkle free!”

About Botox At Westlake Dermatology San Antonio
Botox appointments are quick, with most treatments taking around 20 to 30 minutes, including a pre-treatment assessment by the injector. New Botox patients will conduct a consultation with our experienced injectors to discuss their previous health history, current aesthetic concerns, and desired end result. The provider will then administer Botox in the treatment area through a series of injections via an ultra-fine needle. Pain or discomfort is minimal, with most patients saying the treatment feels like a small pinch. Patients can return back to work or normal daily activities immediately after treatment.
