Male cosmetic procedures continue to grow at a healthy rate. Many men are now embracing the idea of enhancing their appearance for personal or professional reasons, leading them to seek both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments to improve their look and boost their confidence. The increase in male demand has spawned a new trend in the cosmetic industry: Daddy Do-Over procedures.

What is a Daddy Do-Over?

Similar to a mommy makeover, a daddy do-over is a treatment package that combines two or more surgical and non-surgical (minimally invasive) face or body procedures. It’s a fully customizable combination of cosmetic treatments that can be performed to address specific trouble areas.

Daddy Do-Over’s tend to be most popular with middle aged men (in their 40’s and 50’s) who begin to notice major changes in their physical appearance due to simple aging. Even “fit” men who regularly exercise and eat healthily may start to notice the development of normal facial aging symptoms like wrinkles or sagging skin. Others may develop love handles or enlarged breasts (gynecomastia). A daddy do-over can be performed to reverse these aging symptoms, creating a more youthful appearance.

What are the Benefits of a Daddy Do-Over?

By combining numerous procedures into one visit, daddy do-over patients are often able to reduce their total procedure cost by thousands of dollars compared to doing the procedures separately. These savings can come from reductions in surgeon fees, facility costs, and anesthesia.

What is Recovery Like?

The overall recovery period for a daddy do-over procedure can vary greatly from patient to patient based on which specific procedures are performed. Additionally, each individual patient will recover at a different rate.

Generally, most patients will be able to resume normal daily activities within 2-3 weeks of a surgical procedure and strenuous physical activity after 2-3 months post procedure.

How Much is a Daddy Do-Over?

The total cost of a daddy do-over, much like the recovery experience, depends on the types of procedures performed. The cost can vary greatly since there is a variance in the cost of the treatments individually. The total cost can be provided during your in-person consultation.

What Types of Procedure Are Performed?

A daddy do-over can be 100% customized to meet the needs of each individual patient. As such, a skilled plastic surgeon will assess the patient’s body and desired results to create an individualized combination of procedures.

Daddy do-overs commonly combine some of the following popular cosmetic procedures:

Liposuction: Lipo removes fat cells from targeted areas of the body to enhance the overall physique of the patient. Common areas for liposuction on men include the abdomen, flanks, waist, chest, and legs.

Gynecomastia: Gynecomastia surgery, also known as male breast reduction, creates a flatter and firmer chest by removing excess breast tissue. This procedure helps bring the contours of the chest into proportion with the rest of the body.

Botox: Botox is a simple non-surgical procedure that smooths persistent lines and wrinkles. It works by relaxing the underlying facial muscles that create wrinkles when they contract.

Tummy Tuck: Tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure that tightens abdominal muscles and gets rid of excess fat and skin; resulting in a flatter, more toned stomach.

Dermal Fillers: Sometimes referred to as a “liquid facelift”, fillers are non-surgical injectable treatments that add volume and structure back into the skin. Fillers can be used to enhance contours, balance the facial profile, rejuvenate the skin, and provide an overall natural and aesthetically pleasing result.

Eyelid Surgery: Also called blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery is a cosmetic procedure that is performed to reverse sagging and remove excess fat and skin around the eyes, making the eyes dramatically younger and more vibrant in appearance.  Eyelid surgery can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids, or both.

CoolSculpting: CoolSculpting is a non-surgical body contouring treatment that is a great alternative to liposuction. This cutting-edge treatment uses controlled cool to literally freeze fat cells away through the process of cryolipolysis.

Facelift: Facelift surgery makes the face tighter and smoother through the targeted removal of excess and sagging facial skin and loose underlying facial muscles. The results provided by facelifts are dramatic, with many patients looking 10-15 years younger.
