Quiz: Can You Spot Skin Cancer?

Written by WD Staff, Skin Care Specialists on August 8, 2017 No Comments

Did you know that skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States? It’s estimated that nearly 3.3 million people in the U.S. receive treatment for some form of skin cancer each year. Another eye-opening statistic: at some point in their life over 20% of all U.S. adults will develop some form of skin cancer.

When it comes to fighting skin cancer, early diagnosis is the key. Typically, skin cancer that is discovered and removed early is highly curable. Most of the time cancers are first found by patients themselves, who notice a suspicious looking spot on their skin and then go in to see a dermatologist. This is why doing a monthly self-evaluation of your skin is so important. (For tips see our blog post on self evaluations.)
