Revance RHA Filler

Hyaluronic acid fillers have long been the go-to for facial contouring or for adding volume to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Natural hyaluronic acid provides skin with moisture and volume. With natural aging, however, the HA levels in our skin declines resulting in a loss of skin elasticity.

RHA, short for Resilient Hyaluronic Acid, is an innovative filler that moves with your face for natural-looking and longer-lasting results.

About RHA Fillers

Resilient Hyaluronic Acid fillers (RHAs) differ from other HA fillers in that they synthesize hyaluronic acid with an innovative process that uses fewer chemical modifications. The end result is a filler that more closely mimics the natural HA found in the skin. Preserving the long-chain structure of HA gives it more dynamic properties which allows the filler to move naturally with the face.

The Only Filler FDA Approved for Dynamic Wrinkles

Wrinkles appear in dynamic areas of the face that experience repeated movements. When skin is young, it has sufficient elasticity to return to its original shape after laughing, smiling, frowning, talking, eating, or drinking. As we age, these repeated movements begin to create creases and grooves in our skin due to a loss of natural HA, collagen and elastin.

HA fillers work wonders for creating volume behind deep creases. Because RHA is more flexible than most other HA fillers, it integrates more seamlessly with the natural contours of the face for a softer, more natural look both while the face is at rest or in motion.

The Revance RHA Collection

While relatively new to the United States, RHA fillers have been safely used in Europe since 2015. The fillers of the RHA Collection are the first hyaluronic acid fillers to be FDA-approved for the treatment of facial wrinkles and folds.

Three different formulas are available, each with differently sized HA particles, designed for varying use.

RHA2: RHA2 is best for overall smoothing of the skin and for correcting tiny lines, such as fine wrinkles around the mouth. This formula is commonly used for lip augmentation.

RHA3: RHA3 is best for moderate folds such as those at the corners of the mouth, lines around the nose, and nasolabial folds, which are the lines that extend from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

RHA4: RHA4 is specially formulated for the deepest folds and creases, including deeper nasolabial folds, marionette lines on the chin, and wrinkles in the lower face and jawline. It’s also commonly used to provide filler for the cheeks.

How Long Do RHA Filler Results Last?

RHA more closely resembles the body’s own hyaluronic acid, which means it is broken down more slowly by the body’s metabolic system. This equates to longer lasting results of often up to 15 months, while other HA filler results generally last 9-12 months. Like all treatments, results can vary by patient.
