CoolSculpting is a noninvasive method of body contouring. The procedure kills fat cells by freezing them with a method called cryolipolysis. The destroyed fat cells are then naturally cleared from the body over the course of a few weeks or months. The result is a slimmer, smoother physique. Because it is non-invasive and requires very little downtime, it’s easy to exercise after CoolSculpting. In fact, there are very good reasons why you would want to. Keep reading to learn what you should know about exercising after CoolSculpting.

Can Exercise Affect The Coolsculpting Treatment Area?

After CoolSculpting, you may experience redness, bruising, swelling or some tenderness in the treatment area. These minor side effects are completely normal. In most cases, they will go away on their own after just a few days.

It’s important to listen to your body. For some, side effects are uncomfortable enough that they’ll want to refrain from exercise for up to 48 hours. For others, a brisk walk or light movement can actually help these symptoms clear up sooner.

How Soon After Treatment Can I Exercise?

CoolSculpting is a non-surgical body contouring procedure. So, there’s no downtime needed right after treatment. While you may want to wait up to 2 days for the initial swelling or soreness to subside, you should be able to return to your exercise routine as soon as you feel ready.

Most people who choose CoolSculpting over liposuction do so precisely because it allows them to get back to physical activity sooner. Exercise can even help boost and maintain your results.

The Benefits of Exercise After CoolSculpting

There are at least 3 very good reasons why you’ll want to exercise after your CoolSculpting treatment.

  1. Exercise Speeds Recovery

In some cases, physical activity speeds recovery time. Movement boosts circulation which can reduce swelling, minimize bruises and help soreness go away sooner.

After CoolSculpting, your body will take up to 2 months to gradually clear away deceased fat cells. Exercising may help speed this process. The lymph system, which clears away the unwanted cells, is stimulated by movement.

Some who return to a regular exercise routine after CoolSculpting see dramatic results in as little as 2 weeks.

  1. Exercise Maintains Results

CoolSculpting permanently eliminates fat cells, but if you gain weight, remaining fat cells can still grow larger. The only way to maintain your CoolSculpting results is to maintain your body weight. After treatment, exercising and eating healthy is the best way to maintain your results.

Many find CoolSculpting is the motivation they need to maintain their exercise routine. After having invested in the procedure, they don’t want to lose their results. Plus, they’re encouraged by their new physique every time they go to the gym.

  1. Exercise Boosts Results

CoolSculpting removes unwanted fat cells for a slimmer, smoother physique. Toning this physique with exercise can further enhance your results. With fat cells removed, your silhouette will appear thinner. But for a toned look, you need to have muscle.

The Best Exercises for Enhancing CoolSculpting Results

To enhance your CoolSculpting results, you’ll want to build muscle. Building muscle (especially for women) won’t make you look bulky. Instead, it will result in greater tone and help you burn fat. Since muscle is more metabolically demanding than fat, a muscular body burns more calories, even when you’re not working out.

Aerobic Exercise

If you’re new to exercising, start slowly. Aerobic activity such as walking, cycling, or jogging can help you gradually build your endurance over time. These activities will also help prevent weight gain.

Strength Training

Combine aerobic exercise with strength training to tone muscle. Both body weight exercises and weight-lifting can be effective for toning and strengthening.

CoolTone

CoolTone, a toning treatment developed by the makers of CoolSculpting, is another method of enhancing results. CoolTone is a non-surgical treatment which stimulates muscle contractions for a more contoured, sculpted physique. CoolTone contracts the muscles much faster than exercise, for quicker results.
