Alma Torres, MD

Dr. Alma Torres specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, caring for patients across the full range of skin, hair, and nail conditions. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is committed to comprehensive, evidence-based care and to making that care accessible to the diverse communities she serves.

Born in Mexico and raised in Lansing, Michigan, Dr. Torres graduated summa cum laude from Olivet College before earning her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed both her internship and dermatology residency training at Southern Illinois University, where she served as chief resident in her final year.

Dr. Torres has a special interest in the early diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. She is particularly passionate about dermoscopy, a tool that allows for closer examination of skin lesions, to help identify skin cancers at their earliest stages. She is committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care that reflects the latest advances in dermatology.

She believes exceptional dermatologic care begins with listening. Dr. Torres takes the time to understand each patient’s concerns and build treatment plans suited to their individual goals—whether those goals are medical, surgical, or cosmetic.
