Restylane Benefits
Restylane is a cosmetic dermal filler made of clear hyaluronic acid gel, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. The hyaluronic acid creates volume in the face, giving it a healthy, youthful appearance. Restylane filler is able to produce immediate and dramatic results right after injection. The skin looks plumper and more youthful, the visual appearance of lines and wrinkles is within minutes of Restylane being administered

Different Types of Restylane
There are multiple products within the Restylane family that are designed for different areas of the face. Restylane products include:
- Restylane: Used to add fullness to the skin and correct severe facial wrinkles or folds
- Restylane Lift: An ideal filler to address the mid-face (cheek area) as well as the nasolabial folds
- Restylane Silk: Formulated to add fullness and definition to the lips
- Restylane Refyne and Defyne: Specifically formulated for use in deeper layers of the dermis
- Restylane Kysse: – FDA approved to enhance lip volume
How Does Restylane Work?
Hyaluronic Acid is a well-known humectant which means it has the ability to attract and retain moisture. In fact, HA can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Restylane filler used hyaluronic acid to add targeted volume in the face, giving it a healthy, youthful appearance. When Restylane is injected directly into areas where the body’s collagen has been weakened, depressions can be raised to the level of surrounding skin. This minimizes the appearance of lines, wrinkles and even most types of scars. Restylane even has a positive benefit for skin texture as treatment leaves the skin softer with a more even tone.
Compared to other fillers, Restylane has a granular and more cohesive texture which makes it ideal for addressing deep folds and sunken facial areas (the effect of significant volume loss). Restylane is also highly moldable, when injected into the skin the filler can be manipulated by the injector to create desired shapes and contours.
How Long Does Restylane Last?
The results of Restylane typically last anywhere from 9 to 12 months before the body metabolizes the filler (returning the skin to its pre-treated state). However, some patients may experience positive effects for up to 18 months after injection. Like all dermal fillers, patients can undergo periodic maintenance treatments to extend Restylane results.
