Restylane Benefits

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid (HA) based injectable gel that has the ability to smooth away moderate to severe facial lines, wrinkles, and folds. Restylane filler is able to produce immediate and dramatic results right after injection. The skin looks plumper and more youthful, the visual appearance of lines and wrinkles is within minutes of Restylane being administered.

Restylane is 100% non-surgical, the treatment is painless and no downtime is required. Patients are able to return to work, school, and normal daily activities right after a treatment session.

How Does Restylane Work?

Hyaluronic Acid is a well-known humectant which means it has the ability to attract and retain moisture. In fact, HA can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Restylane filler used hyaluronic acid to add targeted volume in the face, giving it a healthy, youthful appearance. When Restylane is injected directly into areas where the body’s collagen has been weakened, depressions can be raised to the level of surrounding skin. This minimizes the appearance of lines, wrinkles and even most types of scars. Restylane even has a positive benefit for skin texture as treatment leaves the skin softer with a more even tone.

About Restylane at Westlake Dermatology Houston

Dermal filler treatments can be complex, requiring a deep understanding of science and an eye for aesthetic beauty. For best results, Restylane treatments should be performed by experienced injectors. That’s why all Restylane treatments in our Houston location are performed by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.

Restylane treatments start with an in-office consultation, allowing our dermatologists to assess each patient’s individual needs and desired end result. A unique treatment plan will then be developed and presented to the patient. Upon approval, Restylane is administered through an ultra-fine needle. These injections are minimally painful since most Restylane formulations include numbing lidocaine. Most Restylane patients say discomfort it minor, with treatment feeling like a series of tiny rubber band snaps on the skin. Treatment sessions are brief and patients feel no discomfort after the injection is completed.
