Board Certified Dermatologist and Fellowship-Trained Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgeon
Lisa Akintilo, MD MPH is a board-certified dermatologist and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery fellowship-trained cosmetic dermatologic surgeon. Originally from Chicago, she completed Northwestern University’s Honors Program in Medical Education, a 7-year BA/MD program, where she studied psychology and religion before earning her medical degree and master’s in public health from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She went on to complete her dermatology residency at New York University, followed by an advanced cosmetic dermatologic surgery fellowship at Skin Associates of South Florida in Miami under the mentorship of Dr. Joely Kaufman and Dr. Jeremy Green. After fellowship, she served as Assistant Professor of Dermatology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital, the nation’s oldest public hospital. Dr. Akintilo has authored numerous publications and has lectured at national conferences and medical institutions across the country.
Dr. Akintilo is dedicated to helping her patients look and feel their best, with an approach that emphasizes aging gracefully, patient comfort, and improving quality of life through holistic measures. She finds great joy in seeing the positive impact tailored dermatologic treatments can have on her patients’ confidence and overall well-being.
Dr. Akintilo specializes in the use of energy-based devices for patients of all skin types, including lasers, microneedling, radiofrequency, ultrasound, and intense pulsed light. Her expertise also extends to chemical peels, medical-grade skincare products, and cosmeceuticals—all of which she loves to help patients achieve their unique skincare goals. Additionally, she has extensive training in the use of injectables such as neuromodulators, soft tissue fillers, biostimulators, and platelet rich plasma. Her medical dermatology interests include managing conditions such as acne and melasma, ensuring comprehensive care for a wide range of skin concerns.
In her personal life, Dr. Akintilo enjoys fitness, music (she plays 4 instruments!), travel, and her two poodles – Coconut and Mango. She is thrilled for the opportunity to call Austin home and see patients at our Leander location.
